Access: Autostrada Torino-Aosta, exit Morgex, then signs to the Mont Blanc tunnel, Val Ferret, Plampincieux. The traffic is regulated at the weekend after 9 o'clock,

Description: From Plampincieux we head to the top of the cross-country trails in Val Ferret. Take the pedestrian trail and follow it to the bottom, thus arriving at Lavachey. After passing the last houses, go uphill for a couple of turns, finding the signs to the right to Bonatti refuge. The trail winds through the woods, and with some steep switchbacks gaining share rapidly to the exit of the forest. Go up one last stretch stronger, now out of the woods. Hence it is the refuge, and above all a superb view over the Mont Blanc and the Grandes Jorasses very close.
Descent: For the same path, or if the snow permits and is well established, you can cut the slopes in the woods, bringing to Lavachey without redoing the curves came.
